Beach Time Part 2- Wyatt & the Jersey Shore

We knew that Wyatt was going to be sad because William was leaving on Monday afternoon so we thought we should really plan something big for Monday and Tuesday.  Before Unlce John, Aunt Maggie, and William left we had some lunch at Atlantic Stand and toured the Ripleys Museum.  We all went in the mirror maze and Daddy, Unlce John, Poppi, and Nonna did the lazer challenge.  Daddy came in number 9 and Uncle John came in number 1 out of all the people who had done it so far that day.  The museum was really cool.  There were all sorts of neat facts and oddities.  Mommy really loved all the cool historical facts and artifacts they had there- to include a lock of Lincoln's hair which had to be removed from his head following the gunshot by J.W. Booth.   After the museum we got some yummy ice cream from Dumsers and said our goodbyes.

That night we went to the Kite Loft to try to find a nice kite for Wyatt to fly on the beach.  Wyatt liked playing with all the toys there but we decided to wait for another time to get a kite and started heading towards Adolfos new location in the Plaza hotel.

Adolfos was beautiful and they had a lot more space which made it all the more relaxing.

Their new location also had neat rocking chairs out on the front porch so you could relax and watch the water.

The next day (Tuesday) was our last day for beach vacation so we thought we would go out with a bang!  We had all sorts of fun things planned and so we started out nice and early with a surrey ride around the boardwalk.  Wyatt got to ride on a bike with training wheels for a while and did a great job but since he was just getting started we thought doing a surrey would be more fun.

After the surrey ride we drove to Fractured Prune for some hot delicious doughnuts and then headed to Lewes, DE to catch the ferry over to NJ.

Wyatt had a blast on the boat and loved getting to see all of the water all around him. He thought it was pretty funny driving the car on to the boat.

Everyone really enjoyed the boat ride and it was nice to get to spend some time on the water.  We have been wanting Wyatt to go on a boat ride for a while now.

Nonna is the Queen of the World:

We were pretty impressed with all the rides and games they had at Wildwood.  The beach didn't seem to be as nice as the ones in MD and DE but there was tons to do on the boardwalk.

Morey's Piers- there are actually three piers filled with rides and one even has a huge waterpark.  We can't wait to go back and try out some of the water rides.

Wyatt and Daddy on the flying pirate ship ride.  It took us all around the pier and we got an up close look at some of the neat water rides.

Wyatt and Mommy and Daddy on the Seagulls where Mommy and Daddy had to do all the work.  We had to power the ride the whole way like a bicycle.  It was a cool ride mixed with a great workout.

Some of the water rides we are thinking we need to go back and try soon:

Jersey Boy:

Wyatt loved learning how to do the bumper cars in Ocean City and had a blast getting to show off all his driving skills on these bumper cars:

They had lots of neat games on the pier.  Wyatt had to throw a beach ball and we had to guess what color bucket it would land in.  If we were right we won a prize.  We got it on the first try so Wyatt won this special minon from Despicable Me (a movie Wyatt is super into right now).  Here is Wyatt and Nonna taking the new minon for a walk on the boards.

Look what I caught, Pappy!

I think of all the rides on the trip by far this was Wyatt's favorite:

Nonna finally got her hot air balloon ride:

When we got back to shore in DE we were already to get a bite to eat and head back to the room to pack-up and end our awesome beach vacation.

Of course we had to end it with a bang and fortunately for us Ocean City took care of the bang for us.  Our last night there was the night OC had scheduled for fireworks on the beach.  The boards were packed with people all gathered to watch the fireworks show but we had beautiiful privagte balcony seats right from our room in Boardwalk One.

There was no better way to end a great family vacation!  Now, what to do at the beach next year?
