Remembering 2011

Last year my SIL created a year in review with some of the highlights their family had experienced that year and it was a pretty cool way to go back and to look and some of the neat things that they had done.  So with that in mind, I decided to create a look back for 2011 as a great way to highlight some of the months bigger moments:

Remembering 2011 with some of my favorite photos:

January:

We started off January in Virginia at Busch Gardens/Williamsburg with Poppi, Nonna, Aunt Maggie, Uncle John, William, Mommy, Daddy, and Wyatt.  Wyatt got to visit Jamestown in the morning, eat lunch in Williamsburg, and spend the evening in Busch Gardens where he got to see a live Elmo show!

Later in January there was a pretty big snow storm where Wyatt got to do a lot of sledding and build this nifty snowman with Grandma & Pappy.

We also celebrated Poppi's birthday at the car show in Washington, DC and then went out to dinner.  Wyatt had a great time at the car show and really loved the music!

February:

Wyatt got a valentine and was super excited by it.  He carried all around the house with him for a week.

At the end of February we celebrated Grandma's birthday with lunch at Miyako (YUMMY!) and a movie.  Before the movie we had to play some games:

March:

William had a super cool dinosaur birthday party to celebrate turning four.  Here is his delicious dinosaur cake and William about to blow out his candles:

Wyatt and William getting their groove on before the rest of the guests arrive for William's birthday party:

Wyatt got to go to his very first circus!  Nonna got great seats so we were able to see all of the neat animals as they were going by and were super close to all the acrobats so we got to see all their neat tricks.

Wyatt was fascinated!!!!

April:

Wyatt was one busy bunny in April!

We started April off with a visit to the National Cathedral in Washington, DC.  Wyatt thought the cathedral was pretty cool, but he thought that playing chase/catch with Daddy and Nonna outside was much cooler. So afterwards we took him over to Cabin John Park (see bottom right pic) to burn off some more of that energy.  He had a blast!

Wyatt had his first trip to the dentist:

And got ready for Easter by dying Easter eggs with Grandma and Pappy at their house:

Wyatt and William went to visit the Easter bunny together:

We celebrated Easter at the University club with a nice buffet and then went back to Auntie Millie's house for an Easter egg hunt and to open all the cool baskets we got:

We took a trip to the beach:

And spent a Day out with Thomas:

May:

For Mother's Day, Wyatt and Daddy treated Momma to a day at Sesame Place where we got to eat delicious Elmo cupcakes, see a "live taping" of  Elmo's World , get on a bunch of rides, and see a Sesame Street parade on Sesame Street.
In May, we got to move into our new house!!   We were so blessed to be able to get our new place and are so thankful for all the help everyone gave us.  It was so nice to have our own place again although we all still missed being able to hang out with Uncle John, Aunt Maggie, and William each day.  For a while Wyatt would search around the house and ask "Where Willwum go?"  We celebrated with a huge party not even a week after we moved in.  We had everyone there and had lots of good eats and conversation.

June:

In June Wyatt worked on his potty training some more (which is an ongoing process):

We celebrated Father's Day kind of low key because Wyatt got super sick.  We got Daddy some yummy doughnuts and made a delicious breakfast of bacon and eggs.  And went to the Melting Pot with Daddy, Poppi, Nonna, Uncle John, Aunt Maggie, William, Mommy and Wyatt. We then just napped the day away so Wyatt could get his strength back:

July:

July was a pretty busy month and it was also the month that Wyatt finally ditched his pacifier for good.  The pacie fairy came and took all the pacies away and he did pretty well adjusting to life without them.
We celebrated Independance Day with a buffet at the University Club followed by a perfect view of the Washington DC fireworks on the University Club's rooftop.  It was so cool to see the display and this year Wyatt wasn't afraid of them.  He chose to sit and watch the fireworks with his cousin and best bud, William.

Daddy, Mommy, and Wyatt took a roadtrip to visit our friends, the Nobles, in North Carolina.  He had a blast playing with Annabell and Lydia at the playground and got to swing on a big kid swing for he first time.   He loved all the slides they had at the playground and then afterward had a great time over by the lake feeding the turtles.

One of mommy's best friends, Auntie Beth, came to visit from Hawaii.  Wyatt loved getting to see the girls (who had gotten so big) again. He showed them all the cool spots at Arundel Mills Mall.  It was so great to get to see Auntie Beth again and Mommy is super psyched because Auntie Beth is going to be moving back to MD this coming year!!!

At the end of July we celebrate Pappy's birthday with lunch, a movie, and then over to the ice cream shop for some delicious ice cream.

Mommy decided this summer that Wyatt was old enough to help her cook up some goodness in the kitchen.  It is always fun to have a partner in the kitchen and Wyatt makes for the perfect little chef.  Wyatt has helped Mommy make stuffed hot dogs, calzones/strombolis, cookies, pudding pies, and pumpkin cheesecakes.  I wonder what deliciousness we will be cooking up in 2012....

August:

August brought lots of firsts for Wyatt and was super funfilled!

To celebrate Nonna's birthday we all went rollerskating.  For his first time on skates, Wyatt did a pretty great job!  He was super brave and didn't give up.  He just kept at it until Mommy and Daddy decided he should take a break and play some games.  Afterward we all headed out to a delicious dinner.

Wyatt had his first modeling job!  Wyatt was hired to do some modeling with the Consumer Safety Commission.  He did a great job and was super natural in front of the camera.  Here is one of the posters produced by the CSC with Wyatt in it.  The poster was even shown on the news and on their website.  They chose a lot more of Wyatt's photos to use for more campaigns too!

This was Wyatt's very first time being inside a bubble.  It was pretty cool this year he was finally old enough to participate with some of the guests that Goddard brings in.  This year Wyatt got to see a traveling planetarium, worker doggys, the bubble lady (see pic below), and much more.

Wyatt was asked by Mommy's cousin, Sam, to be the ring bearer in the his & Allison's wedding.  It was the first wedding Wyatt got to attend and the first time Wyatt got to be in a wedding.  He was very good and when it was time to walk down the aisle he knew exactly what to do.  After the wedding Wyatt had a blast cutting loose with everyone on the dance floor and even tried to catch the garter (hey, he is a single male after all).

We went to Ocean City for a vacation but it was cut short by a hurricane.  We were still able to fit in a lot of cool things in the short time that we were there.  Wyatt got to experience some good ol'quality cowboy life with a live stage coach ride and a pretty cool pow-wow.  Of course he and William had a hootenanny!

We got lots of walking in on the boards, relaxing in the room, and fun n' games at Trimpers.

September:

Since our vacation in August was cut short we took an impromptu trip to Rehoboth Beach, DE to try to make-up for some of the time we lost.  Since Grandma had not been to the beach in many years she met us at our house and we all drove together.  We were surprised when William came up to us and Nonna, Aunt Maggie, Uncle John, and William were there.  It made for the perfect trip! Everyone had a blast riding on the rides, playing the games, enjoying the good eats, and getting into the ocean.  Here are some of our highlights:

Everyone came over to celebrate Daddy & Uncle John's birthday at our house.  Mommy made a yummy meal and then we all played a game of Clue Masterdetective. Aunt Maggie made a delicious cake and Wyatt and William helped blow out the candles.

Pappy & Grandma got Daddy a cool cake and took us all out bowling.  Wyatt did a great job bowling!

We travelled up to Altoona, PA to meet with Great Grandaddy and to visit Great Grandma Shirley's grave for her birthday.  She always liked that she and Stan were both Virgos.

Nonna, Daddy, and Wyatt went to a cool convention to meet all sorts of TV stars from the past.  Wyatt was even held by Patty Duke:

October:

We kicked off October by celebrating Momma's birthday at Carrabas.  It was a delicious dinner and a lot of fun!

Wyatt participated with us in the Light the Night Walk.  It was so pretty outside to see all those glowing balloons.
We visited Hershey Park for Hershey Park in the Dark.  Wyatt got to get on a lot of rides, do trick or treating, and play lots of neat games.

We celebrated Auntie Millie, Ms. Aida, and Ms. Gaye's birthdays in the Taft room at the University Club and then went back to Millie's house to play and chat.

We did our annual trip to Jumbos pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin.  We enjoyed their pirate themed corn maze and played pirates afterward.  Wyatt got to ride on a horse and did a great job holding on.  He got to pet a lot of different animals too.

Wyatt, Mommy, and Daddy had a lot of pumpkins to carve.  Wyatt thought the guts were gross.

Wyatt did a lot of trick-or-treating and got a lot of cool goodies.  He had a party at school earlier in the day and then after trick or treating William came over to play.

November:

Pappy surprised Wyatt with a cool surprise, an electric train.  Wyatt like seeing the train go all around on the tracks:
We finally moved Wyatt up to a big boy bed.  He had been ready for a while and was climbing out of his crib like a pro.  The change didn't phase him one bit.  He was very proud to have a big boy bed that Sugar could come up on and sleep with him.
We visited the Natural History Museum so Wyatt could see all of the neat dinosaurs and we could get some more inspiration for Wyatt's dinosaur room.
Then we all rode on the carousel on the mall:
Everyone came over to our house to celebrate Thanksgiving.  It was full of good food and family fun.  We all had a great time!
To get ourselves all geared up for Christmas we went to the Zoo Lights in Washington, DC

December:

To kick off December we attended the National Tree Lighting.  It was super cool and Wyatt really loved seeing Kermit the Frog live.

We had a family portrait session in Thurmont, MD where Pappy's Daddy's name is on a monument for vets of WWII and then we all ate at Cozy resturant and enjoyed some birthday surprises.
We attended the Winterfest of Lights in Ocean City and then saw Santa Claus:

Wyatt was super good with Santa Claus and asked for trains.  Santa knew what Wyatt wanted and he got lots of cool new train stuff this year.
Wyatt baked lots of yummy cookies for Santa Claus.  All that hardwork was def. worth it!

Then Wyatt had his very first party with all of his friends from school.  He was very happy to have all of his friends at the B&O railroad museum in Ellicott City.  He even had a puppet show too.

On the day of Wyatt's birthday Nonna,Poppi, Grandma, Pappy, Aunt Maggie, Uncle John, and William all went out with us for dinner at Chevy's where they brought out a somberero and sang happy birthday to Wyatt:
On Christmas Eve, Auntie Sheree, Uncle Dave, Great Grandma Peggy, Pappy and Grandma all came over to our house where we had a delicious dinner.  Grandma read the NIght Before Christmas to Wyatt and Wyatt sat out his cookies for Santa.  He even sprinkled some snacks in the yard for the reindeer.

Christmas morning Wyatt woke up to a lot of presents.  He unwrapped a lot of cool stuff but he didn't start unwrapping anything until he took a spin around on his new bike!

On Christmas Day we met Nonna, Poppi, Auntie Millie, Ms Aida, Miss Aimee, William, Aunt Maggie, and Uncle John at William's house.  There were lots of great gifts to open up and delicious food to eat.  It was a great day where we all got to relax and chat.

2011
