T-ballstar

For Wyatt's Spring sport this year we chose T-ball.  It turned out to be the perfect sport for Wyatt and he was super lucky because he had really great coaches which made learning how to play ball even more fun.  Wyatt's best friend Ian signed up for EYO's T-ball league too and they got to be on the same team.  It was super fun for Wyatt to get out there with his best bud and have a blast playing outside.  They both really improved their game too.

EYO assigned Wyatt to the Oakland Athletics also known as the A's or if you are Wyatt then it is known as the A team. All of the kids on the team were between 4 and 5 years old.  It was great because they were pretty even with their skills and the league was a great way for younger kids to get to learn the rules of baseball while also getting to play some games.

During the season Wyatt and his team learned all about catching grounders, fielding the ball, throwing the ball, catching the ball with the glove, hitting with and without a Tee, and how to cheer on your team mates.  They had a lot of fun getting out there and making new friends too.
Here is one of the Coaches teaching Wyatt the proper throwing technique:

William played the Novice league (which Wyatt will start with in the Fall and continue in the Spring) which is all about teaching the kids how to hit balls that are pitched to them and introducing "out at first". They looked so cute with their baseball uniforms on after their games.
At this game the Coach is giving Wyatt some quick Pitcher advice.  The Coaches were so great about getting down on the level with the kids and really explaining things to them.  They were also really great at being nice and calm even when the kids were being a little crazy.
 Wyatt racing for the ball:

Wyatt coming in to home plate after hitting without using the Tee! He was also very excited to show off all his baseball skills to Pappy who got to come to a couple of games and cheer Wyatt on this season.

Getting high fives for a great play as Pitcher.  Wyatt stopped a grounder and threw it to first base so fast that if there were outs in the game there would have been one!

Wyatt was super excited and very proud of his very first trophy. On the last day the league treated all the kids to Popsicles and then they got to play their last game.  Wyatt was sad that the season was over and made us promise to sign him up again in the fall.
