Day Out With Thomas

This year Wy Wy has developed a real interest in trains and what better way to foster that interest than to take Wyatt to the B&O Railroad exhibit? (It should be mentioned that there was an exhibit on the use of trains during the Civil War which Momma was really itching to see). Mommy bought tickets for a special train event: Day out With Thomas where they had all sorts of special things for the kids to do at the train museum. Mommy took a special day off of work for just her and Wyatt to enjoy some quality time together. Here is Mommy and Wyatt at the start of the day.
Wyatt was super excited when he saw the trains. He loved all the really old trains the most.

Wyatt admiring the Lego Thomas train. I know he wanted to take that whole thing apart and build a huge tower but darn those red ropes.

One of Wyatt's favorite things to play with is a train table. He could spend hours at a train table going around all the tracks. There were a bunch of Thomas train tables set-up and a ton of kids playing. Wyatt fit right in and they were all having a blast with all the toy trains. He just loved playing with this and was quite mad when Momma pulled him away so he could meet...

SIR TOPPEM HAT!!!!!

Sorry for the blur but here is Wyatt preparing for his Gettysburg Address:

They had a fascinating exhibit on trains and how the were used during the Civil War. Trains carried supplies to the troops and reinforcements. It was pretty sweet to see all the wax figures too. They sure threw Wyatt for a loop who would run up and try to talk to them. I have to brag too Wyatt was more interested in the Civil War exhibit than he was in all of the Thomas stuff. I was really impressed with how curious he was and how interested he seemed in all the neat facts.

Next we headed out to take our train ride on the Thomas train.

Here is the friendly Mr. Conductor

And the very excited Wyatt. He was so surprised when the train started running!

Momma and Wyatt on the train.

Wyatt giving Momma a big thank you hug for his special day.

Afterward there was all sorts of rides, games, crafts, and music to enjoy and Wyatt was determined to hit each one. He was so great during the whole day until it was time to leave then he got a little testy. I know he had a blast and there was so much there for him to do and see we couldn't possibly get it all in so I had to promise that we would go back again real soon.

Easter Day

Boy did Wyatt get a huge surprise when he woke up this morning. That bunny brought him a lot this year! Wyatt saw all his Easter goodies and started hopping in place. (I guess that was Wyatt's way of thanking the Easter Bunny for all the cool stuff). Here he is doing the bunny hop: Wyatt got a lot of cool things and some cool things to play outside like this blow-up umpire and baseball. The ump catches your pitches so you can work on your aim.

Wyatt gave this little duckie a huuuuuge hug when he saw him!

Sugar got in on the action too.

Wyatt loves his cars and the Easter Bunny must have known because there was lots of cool cars things in there.

And lots of books too since Wyatt is such a little book worm.

After going through his basket Wyatt got himself all gussied up for a yummy Easter dinner. Here is Wyatt and Momma in their formal wear.

We sure were looking good and Wyatt was all smiles!

This year we celebrated Easter while having dinner at the University Club in Washington, DC. It was a beautiful Sping day and the city was looking good. Here are my men in their suits- so handsome.

A quick family shot

Wyatt had a blast playing with Millie and Aida while we waited for everyone to arrive.

Nonna and Momma joked that this is Wyatt's future campaign photo.

Wyatt, Nonna, and Aida stop to smell the flowers.

Inside the University Club they had a petting zoo which was a huge surprise. All the animals looked so sweet.

Here is the little sheep. I loved his black and white fur.

And the goat and his Momma goat- too cute!!!

Wyatt loved petting all the animals. He is a huge animal lover so it was a super big day for Wyatt. They even brought out a bunny and let all the kids pet it. Wyatt was very gentle and I was so proud of him.

Afterward Wyatt went through his goodie back. He kept talking about this "Yabbit" fingerpuppet.

After dinner we all headed down to the library where they were having an Easter egg hunt.

I think Wyatt (and his helpers) were a little too skilled because they ran out of eggs and some kids didn't get any.

Wyatt and William were very nice and they each took one egg and gave the other kids their eggs. They are such gentleman.

Here is a shot of everyone in front of the Grandfather clock.

Afterward we all headed over to Millie's house to talk, open baskets, and do another Easter egg hunt. Here is Millie and Wyatt sitting on the couch waiting for their goodies:

William was surrounded with all sorts of cool gifts so you know he was all smiles.

Wyatt going through his Easter basket

Wyatt LOVED his dinosaur book!!

Then we all headed out back so Wyatt and William could do an Easter Egg hunt. Those boys were fast.

They were picking up eggs left and right

Here is Wyatt trying to hold a bunch of eggs at one time. Look at his little tounge hanging out while he tries to hold them in place-too precious!

Here are the boys racing to pick up those eggs.

Aida giving Wyatt a helping hand

Wyatt thought he was King of this contest!

Nonna helping Wyatt find more eggs

A shot of everyone just as the race was coming to a close. Wyatt and William did a great job finding all the eggs and all the running really got their wiggleys out.

Here is Wyatt and his Easter basket overflowing with eggs.

Afterward Wyatt and Aimee showed off their new balancing act.

And one last shot of the boys running through the yard, I love this one because you can tell after all that work they were really pooped!

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!!!!!
