What I am Most Thankful For...

This year we were reminded of the true meaning of Thanksgiving- having another year with family. We are very fortunate to have our families live close by and sometimes we take for granted that because they are nearby we could see them anytime.
This year we spent Thanksgiving at my Grandma's house. We had quite a spread and I must say over the years our group has really grown. It was great to share the holiday with family and friends. It was also neat to think back on the many Thanksgivings past and remember when at our table sat my cousins and I as little kids. It really touched me this year to think that Wyatt was now a part of this tradition and though some may come and go that "Grandma's House" is always there. What a true gift to be thankful for, that she has been there for each of us throughout all these years. This year I was reminded of what I am the most thankful for, the health of those around me.
Here is Wyatt and his Cousin William all ready for their Thanksgiving dinners. They watched the parade in the morning and were very excited when Santa Claus came out at the very end.

Here is Wyatt in his Thanksgiving hat that he made in school. I don't know why he is a little scowler here.
After the meal Wyatt battled Uncle Steve for his sofa...continuing on another tradition in my family where the kids always try to keep Uncle Steve from his nap.

Sammy gives Wyatt a new perspective.

Grandma, Aunt Carol, Katie, and Stan put together a puzzle my mom brought. Grandma was very surprised when in the puzzle was all put together and it was a picture of Wyatt and Mommy. We will have to get some more puzzles to do with her soon.
Wyatt relaxing after eating a lot of Sammy's yummy brownies. He really loved them. I said "Wyatt do you want a brownie" and he said "heck yes!"- LOL that crazy Bubbas.

In honor of Thanksgiving I wanted to end this post with a prayer (which I am usually against virtual prayers but that is a whole different post that I am not even trying to get into right now):
God, we gathered this year all together to thank you for the gifts you gave us througout the year. This year Katie is about to make the third of us Cousins to complete their college education. As she completes her course studies and heads into her future careers we pray that you keep her safe and bring her luck as she enters the career world. This year we were very fortunate to see Sammy not only find love with a fantastic girl, Allison, but to ask her to join the family through their marriage. We are very thankful to be able to welcome Allison into our family and for all the happiness that she has brought to Sam, and look forward to their union in August. Lord, we are thankful that you brought my mom through her recent health scare and that there was no cancer present. Thank you, for giving my Dad strength to support her throughout her health issues and for seeing to it that they celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in the happiest place on earth. Thank you for keeping my Uncle Steve and Aunt Carol safe and healthy throughout the year and for giving them strength to support their children in their choices in life. Lord thank you for bringing Steve's friend Eric to our table this year and pray that you hold him and his family close this year so they may overcome any trials that they may have.
Lord thank you for the opportunity Stan and I have recieved to save money toward a house. We are grateful we get this chance to watch our nephew grow and to watch him become more like a brother to Wyatt. It is a blessing to both families for them to be so close. We thank you for Wyatt and for guiding us through the trials of parenthood. We have recieved countless blessings this year and always just when we need them. We thank you for keeping Wyatt safe and healthy. It is such a blessing to have him in good health and always such a bright light in our lives.
Lord thank you for keeping my Grandmother healthy through the year and for protecting her on Thanksgiving. Thank you for seeing her through this ordeal and for the strength you are giving to her. It was so touching to see her last night in the hospital with a smile on her face. We pray that as she faces the tests from the hospital and her recovery that you stay by her. Thank you Lord for all these blessings that you bring.
Amen.

I just looked at this post again and I started to laugh at the picture with Wyatt and Uncle Steve. Wyatt is like, "white man came and stole my couch"
