BCC Firehouse No.6 Open House

Today Wyatt and Mommy met Daddy, Nonna, Pop-Pop, Auntie Millie, Ms Aida, and Miss Aimee at the Bethesda Chevy Chase Firehouse No. 6 for their open house. It was really cool to bring Wyatt this year and to let him explore the firehouse. He was def. on curious cat because he was getting into everything, examining it all, listening to the speakers, and enjoying the goodies. He also got to hang out with Aimee and her friends. He loved hanging out with the cool older girls.

Daddy, Nonna, and Wyatt explore the old time firetruck. Wyatt loved the horn but was so surprised whenever someone would ring the bell.Wyatt, Miss Aida, and Ronald McDonald pose for a quick picture. Wyatt had just gotten up from a short nap and was not quite awake yet.Wyatt got a red balloon...red for the firetrucks!
There were a lot of neat things in the back of the firetruck and Wyatt was having so much fun looking at all the stuff they keep in the big truck.

Wyatt jumped in the back of the ambulance in just enough time to hear the EMT go through all of the equipment in the back. He listened so intently
And he was very sad when it was time to go. Look at that little fish lip, so cute.
Of all the things he explored the ambulance was by far Wyatt's favorite. Everytime he saw it he would run up to it and start climbing the stairs.

I think it was because he got to drive:

And drive....

And push buttons while driving...I think Wyatt wanted to make it official so he tried to grab the EMT's helmut but it was too heavy and Wyatt couldn't move it.

Auntie Millie and Wyatt had so much fun exploring the trucks together, but they took a pause for a quick picture. I think Wyatt was looking up at all the cool things hanging from the ceiling.

What's inside here....Wyatt taking a peek into the fireman's bag

Daddy and Pop-pop worked really hard taking pictures of the kids on the fire truck but we did manage to hang out a little after the event. Wyatt was too wiggly for the picture, there was just too much to explore.

After all that fun and excitement we decided it was time to kick back with some BDs (Mommy's favorite!). Wyatt was super excited at BDs because the waitress brought him some special chopsticks to eat with. He was determined to eat with them so he would pick up his roll and it would drop on the floor and he would go right back to get more. He really enjoyed his eats!

Daddy, Mommy, and Bubba after enjoying a yummy dinner at BDs.

After dinner we went over and visited some more with Nonna. Then we all took a walk to Auntie Millie's house where Wyatt played, played, and plyaed some more. He was having fun dancing to jingle bells, getting hugs from the big lion (who I hear has a new movie coming out) and of course running around with all his family and friends. What a great day!

Melinda's Wedding

What a day!! Mommy's best friend, Melinda got married. Mommy and Melinda have been friends since they were super little so it was such a blessing to be able to be in her wedding party and getting to share that time with her.
Where was Bubbas? While Mommy and Daddy were getting down at the wedding Wyatt was having a ball with Auntie Millie, Pop-pop, Ms Aida, and Ms Aimee. I know he had a blast with them and had a big smile on his face this morning.

Renaissance Festival- Sir Wyatt Knight of the Realm

The Renaissance Festival is in town and what a great way to get Wyatt out and experience some live history however inaccurate it seems at times. There were lots of games to play, music to dance to, and food to eat.
We found a little juggling area where Daddy decided to show off his skills. Then the kids gave it a whirl

How do I do this again, Daddy?

After a few more games we came to a neat playground with lots of kids. Wyatt and William loved exploring the ship.

The playground had lots of slides so Wyatt was in Heaven! He kept sliding down the big twisty tube slide off of the ship.
Wyatt and William each got to try to "Drench the Wench". William was so close to hitting the mark he did a great job throwing. Wyatt threw as hard as he could and then she went down into the water, something tells me he had a little help.

We found a neat place that offered free pony rides. Wyatt loved being up on the pony.

When he could stay on the saddle. The poor guy was falling off every now and then. Maybe next year he will know where to hold.
Do you think he had fun? What a goof ball!

Mommy and Daddy got to see their favorite show, "Squire of the Wire". Wyatt kept laughing at his jokes and was so amazed by all his neat tricks. Then he said he does a circus camp for kids
so we know what we are signing Wyatt up for when he gets a little older.
Then we headed over to the Knighting Ceremony where Sir Robin Hood and Maid Marion taught the boys to bow and the girls to courtsey to the Queen. In order to be knighted the kids had to say a good deed they had done. Wyatt's good deed was sharing with his friends.
Wyatt took his knighting very seriously
And was so proud of himself or maybe he was just a little fancy on the Queen.

Then he stood and faced the crowd as they pronounced him "Sir Wyatt, A Knight of the Realm" and everyone shouted "Huzahhhh"

After such a serious ceremony it was time to cut loose. We celebrated Wyatt's knighthood by taking him on a long journey down a huge slippy slide. They went really really fast. I don't think Wyatt even knew it was happening but Daddy sure loved it!
The place was huge and everyone got pretty tuckered out by then end. The boys passed out in the car and then took naps at home while the adults rested their tired legs from all that walking. It was a nice trip back in time!
