Three Year Check-up

Today was Wyatt's three year appointment. It is always so neat to look at how much Wyatt has grown over the year.  Wyatt weighed 32lbs (which is in the 50th percentile) and was 39 3/4" tall. 

We have been montioring Wyatt's height since October (which at the time was 38 inches) because we are going to Disney World in February and Wyatt is super close to being tall enough to get on a lot more of the rides (to ride on Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain RR, Star tours, Stiches Great Escape, Twightlight Zone Tower of Terror, Test Track and Soarin). We are super excited because this will be our first time going as a family by ourselves so we are really hoping Wyatt can get on these rides with us (Mommy will still not get on Tower of Terror as it is super scarey). We are excited to say he will be able to get on the Kali River Rapids which should be awesome in February-LOL.

  Wyatt wasn't supposed to get any shots this time but Mommy and Daddy threw in a Flu shot for fun. He did a great job and didn't even cry when he got his shot.  Wyatt is doing great in his development too.  He already knows all of his colors and letters, has excellent verbal skills, and can do a broad jump.  He didn't do so good on the straight line drawing though (but don't feel bad Bubbas because Mommy's "straight" line didn't really pass the test either.)

A cool thing about having a kid with a birthday at the end of the year is that as the year changes you can set some cool resolutions with them regarding their development and growing stages.   This year we are going to focus a lot on working on Wyatt's potty training, food intake, and working on writing his letters.  Here are some cool three year old photos for fun:

Wyatt sporting one of his new pairs of underpants.  He is doing quite well with underwear in the house.  He will usually come and tell us when he has to go as long as he is not too distracted.  We tried just the other day to take him out on the town in underwear and his did alright.  He is having a hard time going in a public restroom (totally understandable) and made it through lunch, the pet store, and Cosco totally dry.  Mommy needed to buy some more pairs of underwear for Wyatt (he only had a couple of pairs) so she added on Target at the last minute and poor Wyatt peed himself in the toddler underwear aisle in target.  Ahhh the drama that ensued afterward.  Nice potty training moment let me tell you.

Christmas Day-Happy Golden Days

After opening presents at Wy-wy's house  and getting ourselves all dressed and ready for the day we headed over to Uncle John and Aunt Maggie's house for Christmas Day.  There were lots of presents to open and lots of yummy food to eat! 

When there are lots of presents around it is hard to hold those kiddies back from getting in and opening the gifts.  They were excited to get to see all of their new toys.

Wyatt was a little tired though (we had a looong night and he had a lot of presents to open earlier that morning) so he fizzeled out kinda fast and would wander off to play with some of his new games and toys. 

Everyone had a blast opening their presents and everyone pretty much got everything they wanted.  Here is Nonna and Poppi helping William open one of his presents:

After we all opened presents the kids spent a little time playing with some of their gifts before they all sat down on the couch and snuggled in with Aimee.  Wyatt and William just adore Aimee and love getting to play with her. It was a great way for Daddy to rest after his trip to the hospital on Christmas Eve and all of the mornings events.  Meanwhile the ladies congregated in the kitchen and had a great time talking about things and drinking delicious "fruit juice".
 Before we knew it dinner was ready and looking delicious so we all gathered into the kitchen for our meals.  Here is Wyatt and William about to eat their Christmas Dinners.

Then my camera battery was starting to get a little low so I thought it would be fun for the kids to take the rest of the pictures and then see what they got later.  First it was Wyatt's turn to take pictures and this is what he came up with.

 Then Wyatt and William switched photographers and William took some pictures of Wyatt.  William had the best seat because he could get other people in the background too.  In the background here you can see Mommy, Daddy, and Nonna.

It was a great Christmas this year! Everyone had a great time and there were all sorts of good food to eat. It was great to get to relax a little too. Daddy and Mommy felt so blessed to have so much family with us over the holidays and to know that Wyatt is surrounded with so much love.

On Christmas Day in the Morning

Wyatt woke up at around 8:30 in the morning and instantly came into Mommy and Daddy's room ready to wake us up and get this present unwrapping started!  He swore up and down that he had heard sleigh bells the night before and knew that Santa had visited him the night before.  He was so happy when he made it down the stairs and got his first view of all of the presents under the tree.

The first toy Wyatt saw was his cool new bike and he was psyched!!! He ran right over to the bike and jumped on.  It took a little bit of instruction but then he got the hang of it and really started to pedal around.  I know he is going to have a blast riding around with William in the Spring.  Until then he can get lots of practice inside.

Wyatt was super surprised to see all the goodies that Santa left for him in his stocking!  He always gets such a kick out of his stocking having gifts inside:

But was just the right thing!  Wyatt loved his new train table.  Santa sure thought Wyatt was a good boy because this was one heavy table and had all of the trimmings!  Now Wyatt has enough train stuff to have his own museum and he loves every bit of it!

Christmas Eve- What to my Wondering Eyes Should Appear

Mommy and Wyatt had been counting down the days with an Advent calendar and today was the last day which means Santa Claus is coming tonight!  We had done a lot of cool Christmas activities with Wyatt this year including having weekly drives around the neighborhood/town looking/admiring all of the cool Christmas lights and displays, decorating the Christmas tree with family, walking the boardwalk at night and looking at all those cool beachy lights, seeing "Arthur Saves Christmas", and even getting to see Santa once or twice. 

To say that Wyatt was ready for Christmas to come is an understatement.  He was so excited to hear that everyone was going to come over to celebrate and help him get all ready for Santa.

Wyatt had been asking for weeks when Santa Claus was going to come to the house and give him presents.  Although at first Wyatt was convinced that Santa would take all of his current toys in exchange for the new ones.  It took a while to get him to shake that idea.  Now that he knows Santa will come and just leave some super cool new stuff he is back on board with Ol St. Nick!

We hosted Christmas Eve at our house this year.  It is so nice to have the new house and have everyone over.  It is cool to have everyone over to the house helping us to build more and more memories here.  And so great to share the house with everyone as it starts to take shape more and more and become more ours each day.

For Christmas Eve we had: Great Grandma Peggy,Great Auntie Sheree & Great Uncle Dave, Pappy, Grandma, Daddy, Mommy, Sugar, and of course Wy-wy:

Everyone really enjoyed their dinner and we had TONS of food!!  Even Sugar got to have her very own plate of all the delicious eats- Hey it was Christmas after all;

After dinner, Grandma read "Twas the Night Before Christmas" to Wyatt:

Great Grandma Peggy and Wyatt watched "The Wizard of Oz" while Great Aunt Sheree, Great Uncle Dave, Mommy, Grandma, Pappy, and Daddy played Phase 10.

It was starting to get late and Wyatt swore that he heard sleighbells so it was time to get ourselves prepared for Santa's big debut.  Wyatt got to choose all the cookies he wanted to give to Santa Claud.

Wyatt, our little Count, saying Wyatt has four cookies.  FOUR AHH AHH AHH FOUR COOKIES!

And of course a special cookie for Santa that had his name on it!

Of course we don't want Santa to be thirsty so we poured him some milk too.

And laid it out on the table with Wyatt and Sugar's stockings all ready to be filled up with good goodies.

Of course we couldn't forget about those hard working reindeer.  When we went to Nicola pizza for the Christmas lights they gave us this special package of reindeer food to sprinkle on the lawn so they can have a little snack while Santa does his work.

Then it was time to send Wyatt off to dreamland so Santa could sneek in and leave all of the presents under the tree.  Wyatt was one special good little boy this year so he knew that he was going to get a lot of neat things.  And Wyatt couldn't wait for the magic to begin...
