The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore

Today after Wyatt had his visit to Kennedy Krieger, Mommy and Wyatt met up with Ms. Shannon and we all went to the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore.  It is a fantastic zoo!! There are so many activities for kids and adults to do and there are animals everywhere in very nice habitats.  Wyatt super loves animals and interacting with them and he had a blast getting to do all the fun slides and hands on activities with Ms. Shannon.

Here are some photos of the fun we all had:

They have this awesome slide that goes super fast:

Turtle, turtle:

Another slide hidden in the barn silo in the petting zoo section.  It was only big enough for the very small ones:

Wyatt petting a sweet cow:
They have a section in the zoo where you can brush the goats.  All of the goats loved to have their hair brushed and they were so gentle.

Mommy brushed this goats hair and it fell in love.  This goat followed Mommy all around and even followed us as we were trying to leave.  Look at that cute little face!
 Rude 'em cowboy!

This croc took one look at Wyatt and came swimming toward him with his jaws wide open.  Good thing there was that glass there!

A good old fashioned jungle stare down:

But Wyatt still emerges the King of the Jungle!

Happy Birthday Daddy!!!

This year for Daddy and Uncle John's Birthdays we decided to have everyone come over for a cookout at our house.  It was nice to have everyone over and to play poker with everyone and since we had such a big day with the Bichon Bash earlier it was nice to get to come home and relax with family and friends.

The next weekend Grandma and Pappy came over to celebrate Daddy's birthday with a movie and lunch.  We all ate cake and then relaxed and watched the skins game.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!!!!

Stratford Hall

Wyatt got to see one of Pappy and Mommy's favorite historic mansions, Stratford Hall, owned by the Lee family.  The tour guide was so cool she even let Wyatt hold the keys to the mansion.  He was so good he actually gave them back.
After the tour of the mansion house we walked or rather ran all around the grounds.

Wyatt about to go back in the lower entrance- see now if you would have kept those keys you could have set up shop there Bubs.
The herbs on the side of the kitchen

The side of Stratford Hall

The Lee's Burial site, it was weird because the floor was all busted open and the crypt where the bodies are kept was wide open.  Pappy said "I guess no body's home" I am not sure if I should be relieved about that....
After the crypt gave us the chills we headed over to the additional out buildings.  I wish I had read the part in the pamphlet where it said no pictures in the mansion house and the side buildings- so here are some unauthorized pictures for everyone to enjoy.

AMEN TO THAT:
The carriage houses held a lot of carriages from various periods in time.  It was neat to see all the different designs of carriages and how they evolved throughout time.

Now to annoy them:

Wyatt and Pappy heading for the letrine, hey, if its good enough for the Lees....

The view from the front, Stratford has such a cool shape.
After the mansion we all headed to the gift shop where Pappy got a super delicious root beer to share with Wyatt.  At first Wyatt wasn't too sure about it but then he took his first sip and was in Heaven.  He kept telling Pappy when to stop taking drinks from it so he could have more for himself.  It was a nice way to sit and relax after a nice long walk.

Pappy, Wyatt and Mommy on the bridge back to the museum

Before leaving we all looked around the museum where they had this great exhibit on Robert E. Lee.  It had a statue of Lee standing in a military tent and then when you walked near it it triggered these lights to shine on it and then Lee to start speaking.  Wyatt loved it and watched it like a hundred times.  Poor guy is just like his Momma and his Pappy- a history nut!

Wyatt and Pappy headed back after a nice tour through Lee History. Can't wait to see where history will take him next time:
