We have wanted to visit Knoebels theme park for a long time. Last year on Father's Day we had plans to go up there but the plans fell through when everyone got sick. It seemed like a perfect weekend to go up to Knoebels to enjoy the rides and the sunshine.
We looked all around the grounds to see what things were where and then decided to begin our day with The Haunted House because it is an original dark ride and has a ton of neat stuff in it. The ride was amazing! It was a little scarey but Wyatt just pretended to shoot all of the skeletons and Mommy just closed her eyes so we made it out of there ok.
Afterward Daddy and Wyatt got on this cool umbrella ride:
Wyatt was really shocked when it went way up and then dropped him down. He looked so surprised but recovered quickly.
We got on the log flume and Mommy was worried that Wyatt was going to fall out so she held onto him really tight.
Mommy and Wyatt celebrating our success on the log flume- We're Big & Strong!
They also had lots of games to play which Wyatt really got into. He did a great job playing the games and won a couple of prizes too.
Wyatt playing a little while on an old steam engine:
Daddy and Wyatt outside of the Black Diamond- an indoor rollercoaster style dark ride- where you go deep into a coal mine that was blasted before everyone could make their way out of the ride. Lots of skeletons and scarey miners.
They also had a museum with some of the old rides/entertainment they used to have at the park over the years. Here is Wyatt and Daddy with one of the old Bears from the Bear Show:
A tiny VW bus perfect for tiny hippies:
Wyatt and Daddy got on the flyer and whipped all around in the air. Wyatt was quite the brave little man!
Daddy and Wyatt on the mini roller coaster:
An entertainment center area where Wyatt played while Daddy got on some of the rides that Wyatt was too little for. It was kind of sad that there was no entertainment here as it would have been a great venue for some Mother Goose tales of a neat fantasy tales.
Mommy and Wyatt outside of the adoreable fudge/candy shop:
The giant slide. Wyatt had a blast going down the slide:
Mommy and Wyatt on the carousel:
That's Entertainment:
It was an awesome day full of running from ride to ride and having a blast!!!! Wyatt was really good but got very tuckered out on the way home. We stopped off in Harrisburg, PA in observance of Cinco De Mayo at Fiesta Mexico.
The next day we drove back up to Knoebels so we could enjoy the park with Uncle John, Aunt Maggie, and William. Wyatt was super happy to have his favorite partner to get on the rides with. Everybody got on the Haunted House first.
Mommy and Wyatt got on the classic cars while everyone else got on the rollercoasters.
Then when everybody was done we went back for another round.
Wyatt and William driving:
And on the airplanes:
William, Uncle John, Wyatt and Daddy on the log flume:
To end the night a giant barge ready to get everyone wet with a giant tidal wave:
The splash:
Everyone got really really wet!
Wyatt kept saying "I wet, I wet"
Good thing there was spare clothes in the car!
What a great way to spend the weekend!
