Wyatt in TV Land

Since Wyatt has become quite the little star recently he decided it was time to hob nob with some of the others in the business so he went to a convention where they had all sorts of TV stars from yesterday.

Here is Daddy and Wyatt on their way out the door

Nonna and Hugh Beaumont from Leave It To Beaver
Nonna and Billy Gray
Nonna, Wyatt and Patty Duke

Wyatt showed everyone that he knows best!  Here he is with Lauren Chapin from Father Knows Best

Apparently the stars were all quite taken with Wyatt and were ready to take him back with them to Hollywood!!  He was one lucky Bubbas that's for sure!

Simon Says

Today at Wyatt's school they set out to beat the record for the largest game of Simon Says.  Wyatt and other members of his school as well as neighboring Goddard schools and some parents all got together to try to beat this record.  Afterward they had a huge celebration and Wyatt got this:

Visit to Altoona

Today in honor of Great-Grandma Shirley's birthday we visited her grave in Altoona, PA and put down flowers.  It is a beautiful cemetary and many of Grandma's relatives are buried there.

Wyatt loved getting to see Great Granddaddy and really liked walking all around in the backyard.  It was a great way to remember Grandma Shirley and to keep her memory alive in Wyatt as well.

Go Skins!

Today was the tenth anniversary of 9/11.  It was very interesting to see who people chose to think about ten years passing by and a little scarey too since people were unsure as to whether something was going to happen. We decided that spending time with family was the best way to celebrate the first game of the season and to remember the events of 9/11.  It is amazing to think about how much things change over the years but it was great to look back over the ten years and to realize that in those ten years I did gain a little more worry about what will happen to the country the World etc. but I also fell in love, got married, have an amazing dog (or three), and a beautiful little boy who I just adore.  So spending the day with the people around me was the perfect way to remember that tragedy may happen but there is always growth and change.
Today was the first game of the redskins season and Mommy found some cute redskins gear on sale at Old Navy so a celebration was had... a football celebration.

Wyatt likes football and Mommy was just happy to sit and rest with her Bubbas
Who is becoming quite a fan
Which is good because it was a very good game
My happy little football fan who was very glad that his team won!  Such a silly bubs!

Happy Birthday Daddy Pt 2

Wyatt woke up ready for more birthday fun.  When Mommy asked Wyatt what he wanted for breakfast Wyatt said Birthday cake so you know he was ready to party all day!!
We headed up to Grandma and Pappy's house where they had balloons for Daddy (really for Wyatt) and then we all went out to a nice lunch.
Then we went to the bowling alley to get out some of Wyatt's crrrrrazzzzzy energy
Wyatt had a lane of his own so he could just bowl
 and bowl
and sometimes it wasn't so great
But when Wyatt tried really really hard

and maybe with just a little bit of help...
Wyatt would score!!!!!!!

Grandma and Wyatt trying to make some shots

Then we headed back to the house so Wyatt could have some more birthday cake!!!
Wyatt and Daddy tried really hard to blow out the candles but they were trick candles.  Wyatt thought that was silly when they would start to relight again.

Someone loved his birthday cake!

Happy Birthday Daddy & Uncle John!

To celebrate Daddy and Uncle John's Birthday this year everyone came over to Wy-Wy's house for a special birthday dinner.  Daddy always loved Nonna's meatloaf so Mommy got the reciepe and made it as a special dinner with Boursin mashed potatoes, broccoli with a garlic cream sauce, and green bean casserole.  Aunt Maggie made a super delicious cake!  We were all in food bliss!!!

After dinner Pop Pop headed for the couch and the boys followed.  Nothing like relaxing on the sofa for some good digestion.
Then we all played Clue Master Detective.
 TIME FOR BIRTHDAY CAKE!!!
 Happy Happy Birthday to you
Tuppins and Sugar want some too
working both sides of the room...
After the party, some of Mommy's decorations fell but it sorta looked a little like this:
 Kisses from Bubbas
And kisses for Mister Bear too!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY & UNCLE JOHN!!!!

Rehoboth Beach 2011

Since we had a little snag in our vacation plans for 2011 we thought it would be a great idea to go back to the Eastern Shore since it was Labor Day weekend and we had an extra day off.  We called up Grandma to see if she wanted to go to the beach with us since she hadn't been the Rehoboth in about 20 years.

Just a couple of hours later we were on our way.  Recently Daddy has been wondering how our parents kept us entertained on our long drives since there were no DVD players or cell phones.  Grandma showed us just how to keep a kid going during a long two hour drive:

We were all set when we arrived at Nicola pizza. Since Grandma hadn't been to the beach in a while it was cool to show her where we all like to eat when we come to the beach each year. Wyatt always likes to watch the train go by although this time the train was parked for a little while.
Since we have been working with Wyatt a lot on trying new foods we were super happy when Wyatt ate his very first Nicola pizza. He had some of grandma's pepperoni pizza. Of course it came at a price each bite cost Grandma one sip of her birch beer.

Here is Mommy and Wyatt getting our digestion on:
Daddy and Mommy loving Nicola Pizza...yummy!!!

This cool Dude is ready to hit the boards!

Outside Wyatt got to try this cool MTV drummer game.  Wyatt loves to play the drums.

And so does Grandma!  We all rocked out to some Blind Melon "No Rain"

Next we headed over to the horse race game to try to win some cool stuffed animals.  Wyatt did a good job this time but he got a little frustrated when Daddy would take his turn, but hey we wanted to win!

At the horsey racing we got a big surprise when William ran up to us! We were so happy that Nonna, Uncle John and Aunt Maggie and Cousin William came up to have beach fun with us.  After a couple more rounds of the horse racing we all decided to see what other games we could master.

Here is what William won at the Goblet toss:

Wyatt getting ready to win a pize too:

Nothing like launching a frog onto a lilly pad:

Wyatt and Daddy take a turn at those crazy frogs
Then William gives it a big hit
Grandma has always been really good at getting these frogs on the lilly pads.  She was able to get two frogs on the pads so Wyatt got a pize and William got a prize too.

Of course we had to do a little wack- a- mole!
Then we all headed over to do some skeeball.  Wyatt has really been working on his skeeball skills but he has a ways to go still maybe next year he will be able to get a big score like William.
And who could forget all the rides!!!! Daddy was trying to scare Wyatt on the boat ride but you can tell these boys are brave!

Nonna and William on the super fast car ride

Mommy went on with Wyatt and this ride was totally crrrrrrazzzzzy!!!!

After it went forwards we were surprised when we were all instructed to stay in our seats cause we were about to go backwards

Mommy kept asking "Are we there yet?" I hope this isn't what it is going to be like when Wyatt starts to drive...WHOAH!!!
Wyatt and William against each other in their jet planes
Daddy and Grandma on the Sea Dragon, looks like Grandma showed Daddy who the read daredevil is

Mommy, Daddy, Wyatt, and Grandma on the tea cups.  The sign in the background actually says that they are not responsible for "soiled clothing" nice!
While Nonna, Uncle John, Aunt Maggie, and William headed over to have some dinner we decided to go over to the beach for a nice swim.  Poor Grandma got knocked down by a lot of waves.  They were pretty intense!
Daddy and Wyatt heading out into the water
And instantly a wave finds them

So Wyatt thought it would be better to hang with Mommy on the beach for a while

Of course when William came and joined us Wyatt was ready to give the water another chance.  Sometimes all you needed is an older cousin to make it all better.

After the beach we did more rides including the HAUNTED HOUSE!!! Poor Wyatt had his hands over his eyes the whole time but at the very end when the doors opened he threw his arms up in the air and shouted "I DID IT!!"

Next we thought it would be a good idea to do a more Wyatt friendly ride while Grandma, Daddy, and Uncle John got on some of the more daring rides.

After a few more rides it was getting really late and we all decided it was time to head on out.  We all had such a great time and it was the perfect impromptu vacation to the beach.  We got in swimming, digging, collecting, game playing, and some darn good eating- what could be better than that?!?!?
