Housewarming Party

This week we moved into our new home!!! It was great because we had settled on the house on 04/20/11 and rented back to the previous owner until 05/24/11. It was weird going through the whole settlement process and then not moving but allowed us a little time to relax before we had to face the big move. After a year of having most of our stuff in storage it was pretty easy to forget about how much stuff we actually had so when the big moving day arrived we were pretty overwhelmed with all of our stuff. We hired great movers called Dawn ProMovers. They were amazing!!! They showed up 20 minutes early and got right to work. It was a huge help having movers handle all the big furniture and the heavy boxes. They worked all day long too and when they left all of our furniture had been moved and was in its place however there were boxes covering our living room and everything had yet to be unpacked. Over the next couple of days we worked tirelessly to get everything unpacked and all the dishes/clothes washed and put away. Although it was intense and crazy stressful we made it and pretty much had everything ready for the BBQ.

Here is our new house with the sold sign out front. I took this picture on the day of our settlement back in april. I was really glad I did too because the sold sign was gone shortly after. We decided it would be a great idea to host a BBQ for all of our family and friends to celebrate the new place with us and to get to thank everyone for making the new house happen for us. Wyatt was such a great little host and was having a blast hanging out with everybody! Grandma made goodie bags filled with cool stuff for Wyatt and William. These glasses were in their goody bags. Here is our little Groucho Wyatt:

And Groucho William

Stan and his Daddy did the grilling. Here they are on our deck with our new grill. It was the perfect day for the BBQ and the food was awesome!

Aunt Carol, Cousin Katie, and Pappy enjoying some food out on the deck:

William (who I am hoping just loves Glee and does not think I am a loser-LOL) sitting at Wyatt's little table and chairs.

Everyone lined up to get some eats. There was a ton of food for everyone.

Our dining room/living room area and everyone enjoying their bites to eat.

Wyatt and William engaging in some fascinating conversation.

Mommy, Daddy, Wy-wy (who was a little fussy because everyone had gone home and he was one tired little host), and Sugar resting and enjoying our home after the successful party.

Wyatt and Pappy playing with the welcome home balloons.

Mommy and Daddy cleaning up the kitchen following the party.

And a very partied out Wyatt (this was around 7:30 or so) heading to bed in his very own room.

As we start to develop the rooms more we will post some more so people can see what we do and how things really start to take shape.

Happy Mother's Day!

For Mother's Day, Daddy and Wyatt decided to surprise Mommy with a special trip to: It was the perfect park for a kid Wyatt's age. They had all sorts of younger kid friendly rides and yummy goodies to eat. Of course they had every little monster on Sesame Street right there on SESAME STREET!!!

Here is Mommy and Wy-wy all ready for our big day in the park.

We started out the day with lunch so Mommy decided to start her day out with this cupcake (hey it was Mother's Day don't judge)

Apparently Wyatt didn't get the Mother's Day memo and went along with his plans to devour the yummy cupcake. No worries Mommy was able to fit in a couple of bites.

Then we headed out to do some activities. This was super fun. Wyatt got to climb up the giant mountain as far as he could

and then would go sliding to the bottom super fast.
Wyatt liked sliding a lot more than climbing so it wasn't too long before he just started jumping onto the mountain and letting himself slide to the bottom.

We all know Mommy LOVES seeing some live theatre and what is better than a live Elmo's World (now that is some good theatre). Daddy and Wyatt were loving every minute of Elmo and Mr. Noodle.

Wyatt was insane when Elmo made his grand entrance right next to us. Wyatt was this close to Elmo!!!

It was great to see Wyatt really get into the show. He was shouting out answers to Elmo's questions and even danced for Elmo.

Wyatt made Mommy so proud showing off his smarts.

After the show it was time to get our energy out with more rides. They had huge slides that Wyatt LOVED!!

Mommy and Wyatt went on this ride that went around and around and up and down in the air. Mommy let Wyatt do the controls

Apparently that was a mistake-LOL.

There were all sorts of great rides to go on and Mommy and Daddy were right there with Wyatt having a blast. There was only one ride that Wyatt wasn't able to get on just yet which was their rollercoaster but he will totally be able to get on soon. There was more than enough to see and do so Wyatt didn't even notice that he didn't get on the rollercoaster.

Did I mention there were games too? Wyatt loved this giant fishing game (which was wicked hard by the way). Wyatt did end up snagging a fish and getting a nice prize.

Looks like we already know what we are going to do when we go back to Sesame Place since we didn't bring our swimsuits.

Perhaps the coolest thing about Sesame Place was the Sesame Street. It was so cool to actually get to go in Hoopers Store and sit on the stoop outside.

They even had an old time-y cash register!!

And a pet store. Wyatt was into that turtle...wonder where he got that from?

Here is a lttle shot of the main street before the start of the parade

And the parade as it made its way down. They had everyone in the parade and Wyatt was so starstruck all he could do was stare and name all the monsters coming toward him.

After a quick ride on the Merry Go Round it was time to say Goodbye to Sesame Place.

On our way back we stopped off at what is possibly the best Friendlys ever! We had delicious ice cream sundaes and then headed back for home. What a great way to spend Mother's Day it was so cool to get to see Wyatt doing something he was really enjoying and to see how much he has learned so far. What better gift could a Mommy ask for?
