2010 NIDA Picnic at Centennial Park

Today Mommy and Wyatt went to the NIDA Annual Picnic in Centennial Park. Since Mommy is going to be moving to her new job very soon it was a great way to spend a social day with her co-workers and of course her friends...
Here is the little man with Miss Sonya and Miss Tanya (and for Tanya I will say, here is Wyatt with Miss Tanya and Miss Sonya- LOL). Wyatt did a great job during the picnic and they had all sorts of cool things for him to do. They had a moonbounce which Wyatt was a little too intimidated to go in (next time), face painting, bubble blowing, and LOTs of yummy food. There were some Program staff who were tossing a foot ball and they even stopped to give Wyatt a lesson. He was having so much fun out there throwing the ball to people and was so proud of himself.
Here is Wyatt and Momma watching the award ceremony
Wyatt saw a bunch of little ladies playing with the hula hoops so I guess he couldn't help himself and went exploring. He just couldn't figure out how to get it to spin.

Wyatt showed off his neat sticker (it was much faster and easier to do a sticker than paint his face). Of all of the activities they had there at the picnic, Wyatt really loved playing on the playground the most. Whenever we would be in a sight line of the playground he would start reaching out and pointing saying "see, see".

See ME!

Nothing like a crazy mirror

Wyatt went down slides...

slides...

And oh yes more slides.

Needless to say after that long fun day, Wyatt passed out on the way home

It was such a great day for a picnic and we all had such a great time hanging out. Mommy was so proud to get to show her special little guy off to all her friends and co-workers who were there and supported her so much during her pregnancy.

18 Month Check Up

(sorry for the silly picture, I just love it!)

Today I took Wyatt for his 18-month check-up. It is so hard to believe he is already 1-1/2 years old. Wyatt sure showed off at his appointment too. I asked him to sit down on the chair while I got him checked-in and he went right over to the chair in the waiting room and started reading an AARP magazine. Wyatt looked so cute there planning for his retirement. We had a little wait so Wyatt decided to play with one of the girls waiting for the doctor.

The nurse came in and weighed Wyatt (24 lbs. / 25%) and took his height (34"- 90%). He is still a little string bean but the doctor said he was doing fine.

When the doctor came in he was having a ball showing off all his new vocabulary. Wyatt said "hi" when she came in and pointed to the Mickey baseball picture in the room and said "See Mickey" (the Mickey wasn't too clear but he always says the same thing when he sees him). Dr. Shah said he sounded like he was doing great with all of his words and really learned a lot since she saw him six months ago. We did the development sheet and Wyatt has completed everything on there. I remember when I never thought we would get that far.

Wyatt got two shots and a Scooby-Doo bandaid. He is a healthy happy 18-month old- who could ask for more!

Father's Day Celebration

To celebrate Father's Day with Grandma and Pappy, Wyatt and Momma met them at the Elk's Lodge for a Flag Day Ceremony. It was very nice and Wyatt was very quiet and attentive. Then we had a picnic and got to play games. Wyatt loved playing the basketball game and got lots of super prizes. Then we went back to Grandma and Pappy's house to open presents and hang out.

On Father's Day this year we went with Nonna, Pop-pop, Aunt Maggie, Uncle John, and Cousin William to see Toy Story 3 in 3-D and then went to the National Habor to walk around and have lunch at the Gaylord Hotel.
Daddy and Wyatt at Toy Story 3-DWyatt loved the movie (even though he wouldn't keep his glasses on)

It was a very good Father's Day and we had such a great time celebrating our Daddy Bears and all that they do for us.

Happy Father's Day!!!

Spending the Night with Pappy & Grandma

While Stan and I were at John & Erin Krumpotich's wedding, Wyatt got to spend the night with Pappy and Grandma and their house. They had all sorts of neat toys for him to play with. They had an instrument set and Wyatt learned how to play the triangle, a Mickey Mouse writing desk with big crayons for Wyatt to color with, and he got to eat yummy sloppy joes and tator tots. Wyatt had a good time with Pappy and Grandma and was all tuckered out when Stan and I came to pick him up.

Old Mooooovin' On Up

Today was Wyatt's last day in the Old Moos classroom. Wyatt learned so much in this class and stopped being a little shy-guy. While in the Old Moos class, Wyatt learned to crawl, to walk, and gained so much confidence. A Very Special Thank You to Ms. Norah and Ms. Talia for taking such great care of little Wawa (that is Wyatt's special nickname from Ms. Norah) and teaching him (and us) so many new things. We will miss you both

Dutch Wonderland

For a fun weekend, Daddy decided to surprise Wyatt and Momma with a family fun afternoon trip to Dutch Wonderland. It was the perfect park a kid Wyatt's age. There were so many rides he was able to get on and it had all sorts of cute activities and shows for the little kids.

Wyatt fell asleep on the way to Pennsylvania so he was a little sleepy when this picture was taken.

There was a cute little train waiting just outside the gate when we entered. It was a great way to see the park and start to plan the day. Here we all are just before the train started its ride.Wyatt looking not so sure about this ride. Momma was fooled by the innocent looking turtles cause when this ride started up those turtles went crazy and did all sorts of turns. Wyatt didn't really dig this one too much (that is ok though because neither did Daddy). LOL.Wyatt loved this ride. He got to take his very own choo-choo around the tracks like a little conductor.Since Wyatt was too little to push the train by himself, Momma followed along with a stick to give him a good push.Wyatt showing off his advanced art skills ;) in the schoolhouse.Wyatt gives Mommy a "Thumbs up" while Daddy says,"I'm not too sure about Wyatt driving"Daddy teaching Wyatt how to milk the cow.Perhaps we have a future 4-H kid on our hands. (The utters really squirted out water it was super cool). The park was hosting Christian Family fun day and who should we see? Bob and Larry from Veggie Tales, both Bubba and Momma were quite starstruck.Wyatt thinking that perhaps he should have driven. This was a great drive complete with real baby ducklings, and a big band show going on right next to the track. Wyatt was dancing along to the music the whole way. Next time, Bubs can take the wheel! Wow look at that slide, you know Wyatt being a slide champion had to conquer this thing. Daddy and Wyatt enjoying the super slide.
And the whole family taking the plunge down the Log Flume. It was a great day!
